In 2016, BBC Children in Need had a record breaking fundraising total of £60million! This year the Round Table family are determined to help raise even more and change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
In 1927 the first Children in Need radio appeal went out on Christmas day. In the same year the first Round Table was created. Since then Round Table and its family organisations Ladies Circle, 41 Club and Tangent have raised millions for BBC Children in Need and this year we are determined to do even more!
In the run up to the big appeal night itself, Round Table family members have been out and about doing their thing.
For the second year in a row an intrepid bunch of lads made up of Fishguard and District Round Table and 41 Club and friends embarked upon a coast to coast challenge in memory of the late great Terry Wogan to raise funds for his favourite charity Children in Need. Cycling through the pain, the guys raised an incredible amount and in true Round Table style had a great time with friends in the process. This year, Round Table and Ladies Circle dusted off their walking boots and got together in the midlands to complete a Ramble in aid of BBC Children in Need. With rambles taking place across the UK as part of the Countryfile fundraising appeal, Round Table and Ladies Circle members got involved and raised over £300!
Across the UK on 17th November Round Table family members will be collecting with the big famous bear himself. Be sure to come and say hi and donate what you can for this incredible charity. Or donate to Children in Need 2017 now by clicking here.

BBC Children in Need’s vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential. We will realise this vision by supporting, promoting and publicising work that addresses the challenges that children and young people face and work that builds their skills and resilience.
The 2016 On-the-Night total was £46.6million. This total grew to £60 million as donations and fundraising income from across the UK was paid in subsequent months. To date, the charity has raised over £909 million.
